About Me

Hi, I’m Katie!

I’m a filmmaker and photographer in Glenwood Springs, CO who likes reading, hiking, writing, and too much coffee.

Creativity has been a part of my life since 2nd grade, when I spent most of my time ignoring what the rest of the class was doing to write short stories. By 5th grade, I was skipping class storytime to read my own books. I’m pretty sure my teachers just gave up.

I discovered film and video production while attending Dartmouth College, and it has grown to become my favorite form of storytelling. I’m fascinated by issues affecting the outdoor industry and women’s empowerment, and I love the way that film can connect folks of different backgrounds and tell the unheard stories that affect people and planet. One way I craft those stories is through video, and I also work as a studio manager for National Geographic photographer Pete McBride.

In addition to capturing stories on camera, I also enjoy writing about travel, the outdoors, and personal development, and you can find more of my writing on my blog, The Wandering Adult.

Please drop me a line (do people still say that?) if you’re interested in working together.
